Clip generation, audio processing options, and output quality can depend on your plan, the source video, and the selected settings.
When generated clips lose audio or look worse than the source video, the cause is usually in the source file, the generation settings, or the way the result is being previewed. The checks below help you locate which one it is before you regenerate.
Find where the problem starts
Where | What to check |
Source video | Does the original play with sound at the expected quality in a normal video player? |
Generation settings | Which audio or AI options were on when the clips were generated? |
Generated result | Is the problem in the editor preview, the downloaded file, or the published post? |
If the original video itself has no sound or poor quality, the clips cannot add what the source does not contain.
Check the source video
Play the original in a normal video player (not in WayinVideo) and confirm it has sound.
Check the original's resolution. Generated results are limited by the source; a low-resolution source cannot produce a higher-resolution result. For export resolution details, see Why can't I export or download my video.
If the source was imported by link, confirm the link still opens in a signed-out window. Sources that expire or become private can produce partial or broken results.
Check the generation settings
Audio-related options can change how the result sounds:
Setting | What it can do |
Silence removal | Cuts silent parts, which changes pacing and can make quiet speech sound clipped |
Filler-word removal | Removes filler words and can affect the audio around them |
Subtitle or voiceover settings | The result may use the source audio or a generated voice depending on the settings |
Music or sound-effect tracks | Confirm the intended track is present and not muted in the editor |
If clips come out with no sound while the source has sound, try generating once with the audio-related options turned off. If the audio returns, the option is the cause; if not, the problem is likely the source file or the processing.
If the result is out of sync, distorted, or crackling
Some video files use encodings that do not process cleanly. When a specific file repeatedly produces broken results:
Re-export the source video as a new MP4 and upload that version instead.
Generate again with the same settings.
If the new file works, the original file's encoding was the issue.
If the problem happens across different videos and settings, note which tool and settings you used and contact Support.

Before contacting Support, collect:
Your WayinVideo account email
The project or task URL
Whether the source video has audio and plays normally
The generation settings you used
Whether the problem appears in the preview, the downloaded file, or both
A short screen recording of the result, if possible
