Publishing problems are usually separate from video export problems: a video can export correctly but still fail to publish.
Quick diagnosis
What you see | Start here |
Account missing or won't appear | Check connection and plan account limit |
Account keeps disconnecting | Reconnect and complete all permission prompts |
Post fails (direct or scheduled) | Check authorization, fields, and platform rules |
Post blocked for content reasons | Check community-guideline or copyright flags in the platform app |
Only one platform fails | Review that platform's permissions and requirements |
Platform limits and formats
Increasing your plan does not override a platform's own rules.
Limit | Controlled by | Example |
Account / post allowance | WayinVideo plan | Number of connectable accounts |
Connection restriction | Destination platform | LinkedIn & X: one account each at a time |
Publishing rate limit | Platform API | TikTok: rolling 24-hour limit on third-party posts |
TikTok rolling 24-hour limit
Keep automated publishing below 15 videos per 24 hours per account, spaced throughout the day.
If part of a batch fails, don't recreate videos: check which posts are already live, wait for the window to pass, then retry only the failed ones, one at a time.
If you can't wait, upload the exported files through the official TikTok app.
LinkedIn / X: one account each
To switch accounts:
Cancel scheduled posts that should use the current account.
Disconnect the current account.
Connect and authorize the new account.
Publish one test post before scheduling a batch.
YouTube Shorts format
YouTube classifies a video as a Short by only two parameters: vertical 9:16 and 3 minutes or shorter. Third-party uploads have no "Shorts" toggle. If clips publish as regular videos, reframe them to 9:16 in Bulk Edit before scheduling. (YouTube can occasionally misclassify Shorts even with correct specs.)
Instagram Reels / Feed formats
Reels only accept videos under 90 seconds in 9:16.
Videos over 90 seconds are routed to Feed, but Feed does not accept 9:16.
Keep the length: change the ratio to 4:5 or 1:1 and post to Feed.
Keep 9:16: trim to under 90 seconds to post as a Reel.
Reconnect an account
Go to Scheduler > All Accounts > Manage and reconnect the missing or expired account.
Sign in to the correct destination account and complete every permission step.
Confirm the expected page, profile, or channel appears (if several are under one login, check you selected the right one).
If it keeps disconnecting, check:
The password changed on the destination platform
The platform revoked or expired the authorization
A teammate removed the integration or changed permissions
The wrong profile, page, or channel was authorized
The account needs an additional verification or business permission
Reconnect once and test with one clip before rescheduling.
If an account doesn't appear in the publish window:
Confirm it's under Scheduler > All Accounts > Manage.
Reload the account list.
Check your plan's account limit (and the LinkedIn/X one-account rule).
Remove an unused account or upgrade if the limit is reached. See How WayinVideo plans work.
If publishing fails
Check:
Destination: correct account, page, or channel selected
Authorization: reconnect if the permission expired
Post fields: title, description, tags, visibility, thumbnail
Video format: resolution, duration, and aspect ratio (see Platform limits and formats)
Content: the platform rejected the post for community guidelines, copyright, sensitive content, or flagged keywords/audio
Platform: try posting directly on the platform to see if the account itself is restricted
Plan: publishing and the number of accounts are included
Save the error before retrying, and retry one destination first.
If the platform blocked the content or restricted the account itself, WayinVideo cannot lift that restriction. Log into the official platform app or dashboard (e.g. YouTube Studio, TikTok, Meta Business Suite) to check warnings, appeal flags, or complete security verifications.
Retry safely (avoid duplicates)
Check the platform to confirm the post didn't publish despite the error.
Save the original error message and failure time.
Retry one account first, confirm on the platform, then retry the rest.
Scheduled posts
Schedule statuses:
Scheduling: still being processed. Don't delete the project yet.
Scheduled: queued and will publish at the set time
Posted: published successfully. Confirm on the platform.
Failed: didn't publish. See Retry safely
Publishing usually takes 1–2 minutes once it starts, but longer videos can take more time. If unsure, refresh the Scheduler to check the status. Very large files (close to 5GB) can time out during publishing. Export such videos at 720p (1080p is fine under ~4GB).
A scheduled post can fail because:
The account disconnected before the scheduled time
The date, time, or time zone is wrong
The video or post fields are missing
Platform permission or rules changed after scheduling
The post was already published manually
The platform rate limit was reached
Reconnecting an account does not guarantee scheduled posts retry automatically. Review them after reconnecting.
Publish to multiple platforms
Select each destination account separately. Each clip-account combination is a separate post (2 clips × 3 accounts = 6 posts). A completed post does not copy itself to other platforms.
Disconnect an account
Disconnecting stops future publishing but doesn't remove already-published posts. Cancel or delete pending scheduled posts from Scheduler first. See How to bulk schedule your clips.
